The city will host the UEFA Women's Champions League final on 25 May and the Europa League final for the 2024-25 season.

Bilbao, always closely identified with football and its wonderful traditions, will be the setting for an unforgettable event. On Saturday 25 May, the UEFA Women's Champions League final will be played at the famous San Mamés stadium, the most important match of the year in terms of club football, which promises to be a celebratory weekend of football in the capital of Biscay.

San Mamés, with a capacity for over 50,000 spectators, is a magnificent venue, worthy of the occasion. Eight teams are still hanging on in the competition, all of them eager to visit "the Cathedral," with the 25th of May marked in red on the calendar. The reigning champions, FC Barcelona, are still in the running, while seven other teams have high hopes of reaching Bilbao's heaven. There are few places as football-rich as Bilbao.

Because Bilbao truly has everything, an unbeatable offer to enjoy football and a cosmopolitan, elegant and avant-garde city that will take on the enormous responsibility of hosting this great final and also that of the Europa League in the 2024-25 season, doubling the stakes and guaranteeing continental football's success.

The Adidas UWCL Pro Ball Bilbao, designed with iconic shapes of the city's architecture, will be used on San Mamés' pitch, taking centre stage in one of the most important sporting events of the year, having sparked a great deal of interest amongst European football’s passionate fans.
